This City’s Centre 1. Window
The views from 40 city centre windows and the residents that live with them made up this video/sound installation that was showing at RAMM (Royal Albert Memorial Museum) 23 July – 22 September 2013. City centre residents living within 10 minutes walk of Cathedral Green volunteered the favourite views from their homes and an interview about it to be distilled into this 120 minute work. The installation shares 3 minutes of of each view… condensed from a 30-45 minute interview. Full sound files will be available soon on the Archive page.
Hear more about the making process in Private Views and Public Art, a discussion between videographer Volkhardt Müller and Cultural Geographer John Wylie (University of Exeter) held at RAMM, 13 Sept 2013 (running time 1hr 1min).
